I like that she orders her remi weaves directly from the manufacturer because it is less expensive then buying them at a wig shop. I always make sure that I am not interrupting her when she has regular customers at her salon. Not only do I like going to her to have my hair done because it is less expensive, but I also like that we are able to talk about anything since it is usually just us in the salon when she puts in my remi weaves. I ended up going to a beauty supply store to purchase some more velvet remi weaves so that I could be ready in time for my trip. My friend said that she would take care of sending the other ones back to the online store and getting a refund for me while I was gone. If I waited until I returned from my trip, it would be past the time that was allowed to make exchanges or returns. My business trip was a success and I got the promotion. When I returned home, there was an email from the online store apologizing for the mistake and offering me a discount on my next purchase. Instead of replying, I deleted the email. When I first purchased remi weaves, I decided to have my friend use bonding glue to attach them instead of sewing them in with weaving thread. I realize now that I should have used less expensive weaves with the bonding glue or had the remi weaves sewn in. In fact, I really should have had it done by a professional hair stylist. Within just a few weeks, my remi weaves stated to come loose. My friend tried to reattach them to my hair, but she said that it was difficult because there was still residue from the original bonding glue and the new application of bonding glue would be adhering to that and not form as tight a bond as it is supposed to form. When I asked her what she meant, she told me that we were basically fighting a losing battle by trying to reattach the remi weaves that had come loose because they were even more likely to come loose with every additional reattachment using the bonding glue and eventually there would be too much build up of bonding glue to hold them well at all. In addition to that, my own natural hair was damaged by the bonding glue. I have a very active life style and my natural hair pays the price. I wanted to give it a chance to grow and recuperate beneath the weaves and now it was in worse shape than before. Some manufacturers of this type of weave claim that their products can be reused up to three times, depending on how well they are attached and taken care of by the woman. Using a minimal amount of hair styling products on your remi weaves and washing them every seven to fourteen days will help them stay in good condition. Another thing that can help preserve them is wearing a satin night cap so that they do not get tangled while you sleep. If you are planning to reuse your remi weaves, it is recommended that you have them sewn in because any residue of bonding glue or glue remover could damage them while they are in storage. In fact, any styling products that were used while you were wearing your remi weaves will need to be completely removed or they could cause discoloring, gumminess, or other damage to the hair strands during the time that they are stored. It is easiest to thoroughly wash your remi weaves while they are still attached to your head. That is because when they are attached to your head the water in the shower can run through them in the proper direction and they will not get tangled as easily as they would if you washed them in a basin of water. This is especially true of longer remi weaves that might not fit well in a basin of water. After thoroughly washing, rinsing and drying your remi weaves, you need to remove them by having the weaving thread taken out. It is best if this is done by a professional so that the remi weaves are not accidentally damaged during the process. Before you store your remi weaves, it is very important that you be sure that they are thoroughly dry. Even a small amount of moisture could cause your remi weaves to develop mold, mildew and foul odors. If any of those things happen, there is no chance of reusing your remi weaves because they will need to be thrown away. After thoroughly washing and drying your remi weaves, they can be stored in plastic bags or containers. You need to be sure that the bag or container is big enough to hold your remi weaves without causing them to rub together and get tangled. They should be laid flat so that the hair strands can maintain their shape. As long as they are not going to be jostled, you can gently shape them to fit in the bottom of a container that is not quite long enough. Once your remi weaves are secured in the containers or bags, they need to be stored out of direct sunlight so that the hair strands are not bleached out by the UV light. All of the women in my family are very beauty conscious, so I knew that it would not be long before my youngest daughter started wanting to wear weaves like her two older sisters. I did not start her out with velvet remi weaves because she was only ten when she first asked. I wanted to see how well she managed with weaves that were a lot less expensive before I paid the higher price for velvet remi weaves. I was pleasantly surprised at how well she took care of her weaves, but I held off on purchasing the velvet remi weaves for another three and a half years. When she was almost fourteen years old, I told her that I believed that she was ready to get her first velvet remi weaves.
